Cambridge University Staff Event at The Botanic Gardens

With over 5,000 university staff members in attendance, CDC project managed the entire event for our clients by managing all logistics, styling and catering as well as sourcing all suppliers and staff.
With so many guests in attendance, we had to ensure the food would be administered effectively, presented beautifully and of course that it tasted delicious!

The enchanting Cambridge gardens were closed to the public for this exciting event which kicked off with a drinks and canapé reception for 70 VIP guests.
CDC then welcomed the thousands of guests into the venue with cold drinks from our two rustic stations as well as serving them a freshly prepared Afternoon Tea Box from our three catering tents set-up on the main lawn.

Our delicious Afternoon Tea boxes featured a choice of freshly prepared salad pots, ciabatta roll with butter, classic pork pie or cheese and onion quiche, a delicious slice of Victoria sponge and traditional raisin scone with clotted cream and jam.
We also catered to all dietary requirements and served up a wide choice of chilled drinks with ice from our neighbouring drinks stations.

Live music acts then entertained the crowds as they sat relaxing with their picnic in the most beautiful grounds on such a warm Summer’s day.
It was such a joy to see so many people spread across the venue and happily tucking into their Afternoon Tea boxes with their colleagues.

Our clients, like us, were passionate about sustainability meaning we sourced fully recyclable and compostable packaging for our spread and had a dedicated team collecting and separating rubbish throughout the function.

We are so proud of our CDC team effort in delivering such a successful, complex event where we received great feedback from both our clients and guests on the professional service, efficiency, food and atmosphere.
